Born and raised in Niagara Falls, Ontario, I grew up like many, in a lower middle-class family, where school was preached as the only path to success. The problem was, I didn’t give a shit about paying attention or doing homework. Needless to say, the classroom wasn’t my forte, and I faced the harsh reality of my shortcomings.
Most of my late teens and early teens were spent living on negative dollars, partying to much and even being homeless for a few weeks.
My steps took me to the Canadian Armed Forces, where I discovered the power of pushing boundaries. It wasn’t just about enduring hardships; it was about thriving beyond them. .
After serving 7 years, I decided it was time to end my military career and pursuit a dream of mine as an entrepreneur. So, on March 13th, 2020, I embarked on a new chapter as a real estate agent.
If that date sounds remotely familiar, it’s because 2 day later, the world was plunged into a global pandemic.
The once-fit ex-military man transformed into a fat blob putting on over 40 pounds in only a few months. That’s when I decided it was time for change.
My mission became clear: I needed to learn to cook.
Not just any cooking, mind you. I set out to master the art of crafting meals that merged healthy with irresistible flavors. Thus, “Nick’s Kitchen” was born – a YouTube channel that chronicled my culinary adventures for nearly two years. It wasn’t just about recipes; it was about taking foods I loved to eat and make them high-protein and deliciously simple so anyone could make them.
With my growing love of cooking, came a desire to learn more about nutrition, how the body works and how I can stay fit without having to count calories and jump from one fad diet to another.
I became a certified Precision Nutrition Level 1 Nutrition Coach & a Sleep, Stress Management, and Recovery coach.
But all of this was education was so technical. It wasn’t simple enough for everyday people to understand, develop their own plan and live a healthy life without getting bogged down in the details.
This led me to develop the “Eat, Sleep, Move, Rest” model – a health pyramid where every layer builds upon the one below it. If you can master the lowest level, you have an incredible foundation for healthy living. I believe that healthy cooking plays an essential role in living a healthy life. That’s why so much of my energy goes into helping people cooking delicious meals.
Beyond the colorful language, my mission remains the same. To help people live a Beyond Average life. It’s a journey that encompasses more than just health; it’s a pursuit of happiness, of reclaiming vitality in every facet of life.
