Ooey Gooey Crispy mozzarella sticks with 8g of protein each and only 91 calorie each. They come out golden and delicious. Serve with some marinara or your favourite dipping sauce.

Ingredients

  • 8 8 Light Mozzarella Sticks, frozen 24 hours

  • 2 tbsp 2 all purpose flour

  • 1 cup 1 panko breadcrumbs

  • 1 large 1 egg

  • 1 tsp 1 water

  • Salt to taste

  • Marinara Sauce for dipping

Steps

  • Freeze mozzarella sticks. Once frozen remove from freezer.
  • In 1 bowl, place flour. In another bowl, beat together egg and water. In a final bowl, add panko breadcrumbs. Season with salt to taste.
  • Dip mozzarella stick into the flour, coating completely. Then into the egg, then into the panko. Double coat by dipping back into the egg and back into the panko.
  • Place on the parchment lined baking sheet and once all your sticks are coated, pop in the freezer for 30 min – 1 hour until refrozen.
  • Remove mozzarella sticks from the freezer.
  • Preheat air fryer to 390°F and spray with non stick cooking spray. Remove mozzarella sticks from the freezer and place in air fryer, cooking in batches as space requires for 6-8 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove, allow to cool a little and serve with dipping sauce of choice and enjoy this one!
