  • 1 pound chicken breast (cut into 1” pieces)

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • 1 teaspoon chinese cooking wine or white wine

  • 1⁄4 cup cornstarch

  • 1⁄4 cup all purpose flour

  • 1 egg (lightly beaten)

  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

  • 1 garlic clove (minced)

  • 1 teaspoon ginger (minced)

  • 1⁄2 cup chicken stock

  • 1 lemon (zested and juiced)

  • 2 tablespoons sugar replacement (swerve)

  • Salt to taste

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

  • 1 tablespoon water

  • Sesame seeds (optional)

  • Green onions (optional)


  • Preheat and air fryer to 375°F.
  • In a bowl combine chicken, soy sauce, cooking wine and allow to rest for 5 minutes.
  • Combine the cornstarch and flour into 1 bowl and in another bowl, add the egg.
  • Dredge chicken into the flour, then the egg and back into flour mixture.
  • Add dredge chicken into the air fryer basket and cook for 20 minutes or until chicken is cooked to 165°F internal temp, flipping 10 minutes into cooking.
  • While that is cooking, make your sauce. In a medium pan, heat sesame oil over medium heat. sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant and then add in chicken stock, lemon juice and zest and sugar replacement. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until thickened.
  • Combine water and cornstarch, whisking until dissolved. Add into sauce. Simmer for 1-2 minutes or until thickened stirring constantly. Once thickened set aside.
  • Remove cooked chicken from air fryer and toss in sauce.
  • Serve with sesame seeds and green onions and enjoy!
