Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon olive oil

  • 2 garlic cloves (sliced)

  • 28 ounces can whole peeled San Marzano tomatoes (or crushed)

  • 2 stems basil (6-10 leaves)

  • Salt to taste

Steps

  • In a large saucepan, heat the oil over medium heat.
  • Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds, stirring continuously, until it becomes fragrant.

  • Add in the basil without stirring and allow the sauce to simmer for 15-20 minutes until it begins to thicken.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and remove basil. Season the sauce with salt to taste.
  • Enjoy your homemade marinara sauce!
